Caesar's 1st Grooming

Photobucket

Excuse the HORRIBLE photo. Taken via Blackberry, without flash because Caesar despises the flash ;)

Took him to be groomed today. We realized his coat was so matted from him not being groomed properly before we got him, we had no choice but to shave his body down. :( I wasn't too thrilled about it. It's been in the 40's here, he's only 3lbs as it is.... Poor guy is gonna be COLD. So I did buy some sweaters for him and HOPEFULLY in 4-6wks he'll be back to his old fluffy self.

Yes, my boy is rocking a blue bow. And it's quite handsome I might add.

See you there!

I've been BLESSED beyond words!

So I don't know if I've posted it here on my blog but on November 2, 2009 our precious Yorkie, Daisy, passed away unexpectedly in her sleep. We lost a family member that day; and we're all devistated over it.

I've been wanting a new dog since then. Not to "fill the void", as nothing will replace my baby girl, but it's really hard to go from having a pet in the family to just.... NOT. I've debated so many dogs, went to see many, yet never followed through. For some reason, my gut instincts told me not to. AND I'M GLAD I DIDN'T!

I posted a thread recently on a public pet site about a week or 2 ago that simply told our story about Daisy and if anyone wanted to re-home a dog of low-allergenic breed, to please let me know.

No replies. None.

UNTIL TODAY.

I got a heart-warming E-mail today, and here's what it said:

"Hi,

I am so sorry to hear of the loss of your beloved pet. Our dog was just hit and killed by a car, he got out of the house while my husband and brother in law were moving things out. I made an impulse decision to get a puppy the next day, my grief was so great. Of course I got a puppy that looked just like ours did and I admit he has helped, but I am still so sad that I don't have the energy to take care of him or play with him like I should. Our older dog, a golden retriever, is also very sad and the puppy is of course a puppy and wanting to play with Max all the time.

The puppy is a pure bred Maltese and we did get him from the store in the mall. He is currently being treated for kennel cough and is doing very well. He is not housetrained yet, but is trying hard :-) He is crate trained, but would rather be with people than in it.

As he is still young, he is teething and is still a little "bitey". I am not sure this would be good for your little guy as he was traumatized by a dog and probably would not want a puppy using him as a teething toy. But, with loving correction, we have been getting Gizmo out of the biting stage...and with lots of age appropriate toys.

If you are still looking, let me know and maybe we can schedule a meet and greet. If you have found a new dog, I wish you well and much happiness.

Blessings,

Melody"

I contacted her back IMMEDIATELY. And she replied, with her phone number. I spoke with her for about an hour. Let me tell you, this was a complete act of God. A complete BLESSING! She and I both talked about the loss of our pets. Then she proceeded to tell me she doesn't want to charge us a re-homing fee... She just wants to be assured he'll be in a loving home (OF COURSE!). To make things MORE ironic, she lives just miles from us AND...this will give you chills... the puppy was born the day Daisy passed away.

We've already picked another name for the little guy. We haven't told Chayce yet, we just told him we have a BIG surprise for him tomorrow.

This has been something unexpected, and in God's timing! If I learned anything from all of this it's PATIENCE. Melody is a wonderful woman and I'll be eternally grateful for this blessing from her and her family. And of course they'll be allowed "visitation" anytime. She even offered to watch him if we ever need to go out of town, etc etc.

Photos and the puppy's name to be posted TOMORROW! He'll arrive at 5pm.
PRAISE GOD!

Father & Son Photoshoot

Photos of Jon and Chayce taken this week.

Saying CIAO to the One-Upper.

We all have them. "One Uppers" as I like to call it.

You make a simple comment on how you had a wonderful day, and that person chimes in with, "Oh my GOD. So did I. I bought a brand NEW car, my husband made me DINNER, and I went ona shopping spree."

And immediately you think to yourself... Not: "Wow. My day wasn't that great afterall."

...instead you think, "Wow. What a complete ASS you just made out of yourself." And everyone sits back and shakes their head.

So yeah. I have a One Upper. And today was the last straw. I took some photos today that I was VERY proud of. And they have the audacity to post a comment saying, "This looks just like a photo so-and-so, a local photographer, took and she's WONDERFUL.... Your picture is good."

WOW. Really? If that was intended to be a COMPLIMENT, you really failed. Funny you won't compliment my photos (which I'm not asking you to), YET, You actually message me asking what camera I use, photo editing software, tips, tricks, etc. Honey, please. I know I'm not some amazing photographer. I just do it because it's a passion that I LOVE. And either you've got it; or you don't. I'm sorry that you don't.

Why am I venting here? Because... It's MY BLOG. Yeah, I'm lashing out... But trust me, this is a LIFETIME of anger I'm letting out. Quite calmly. I could one-up this person til the cows come home. Because she's a horrid mother, egocentric, a pill-popper, a compulsive liar. But no, I shall bite my tongue. Don't worry, following this post comes happiness, photos from today, etc. But I just had to let this out. You know who you are; as you read my blog. And quite frankly... You're an ass. Good luck with your life that you make out to be SOOOOO much greater than everyone elses, as we will never compare to your greatness. And don't waste your time contacting me. I'm busy being miserable that I'll never be YOU. (hahahahhahaa... no.)

Laci Nicole Photography

So as of late I've been really pushing my freelance work. To build my portfolio I'm offering to do FREE photoshoots! I'll be upgrading my camera at the end of March and am looking forward to capturing even more wonderful photos. Of course my FAVORITE subject (because he's the CUTEST one alive) is my little prince. I also snapped a good shot of my husband yesterday. Here are my 2 favorite photos of my boys right now.

Chayce Aiden: 4 years, 7 months Old

I'm BACK!

I can't even begin to explain what I've been up to these past 6 months or so.
My life has been SO busy!
Chayce started preschool in August.
Jon transferred to Kissimmee in July; he HATES it and has a few interviews lined up. Could be starting a new job by March (Fingers crossed). He's been treated horribly at his job; and karma is a bitch to say the least.
I enrolled in Real Estate school and start February 28th! I'm ECSTATIC!
Celebrated my 24th last month.
If you're a member of Coffee Shop Moms, we'll be doing a re-launch next week. If you're not a member.... GO SIGN UP! :)
I'm glad to be back. And can't wait to catch up on everything with everyone.
